As Malacca is typically a tourist state, one could easily find accommodation in around here. Apart from the 5 star hotels and inns, one could also find some very authentic home-style budget inns which is very much sought after by travelers, particularly from overseas. Most backpackers would be able to find budget accommodation in around the old heritage areas and in around Taman Melaka Raya. The Old heritage area has places like Holitel that costs about RM50 per night, Chong Hoe Hotel that goes for about RM45 per night. The Sama-Sama Guest House starts at aroudn RM20-35 per night. Over at Melaka Raya, the Shirah’s Guest House goes for about RM40 per night while the Travellers Lodge starts from as low as RM18 per night. Apart from the two areas, one could also try out in other places like the Kancil Guesthouse along Jalan Parameswara with room rates starting from RM18. More expensive alternatives include the Baba House that starts from RM95 including breakfast. This would be a great place to savour the traditional old pre war homes while the Malacca Straits Hotel starts at RM128. The Aldy Hotel starts from RM110 located along Jalan Kota and the Heeren House start from RM139. Queenspark Hotel in Melaka Raya is a common destination while one could also check in to Hotel Tropicaville that starts from RM90. Other hotels in around this range include the Grand Continental, Accordian Hotel, Mimosa Hotel and Eastern Heritage. A more expensive hotel is Hotel Equatorial Melaka which starts from RM400 per night located in Jalan Parameswara, a stone throw’s away from Melaka Parade a famous shopping mall. Otherwise, the Emperor Hotel, The Renaissance Melaka Hotel, the City Bayview Hotel are also common choices with room rates ranging from RM150 to over a thousand. |
