Getting into Johor is possible by 3 main transport modes as it is connected to other states towards the north.

By Sea.

Johor is connected by sea through its sea ports at Tanjung Pelepas, Pasir Gudang and Tanjung Langsat.

By Land.

One can come to Johor via the North-South Expressway that comes in from the north. From Kuala Lumpur, just head out to the Seremban highway that will eventually lead to the southern state.

Otherwise, one could drive through smaller cities via the trunk roads that will also come into Johor. Alternatively, one can take a bus from Kuala Lumpur, Penang or other major cities that come directly into the heart of Johor Bahru at Johor Bahru Larkin Bus Terminal.

National railway service Keretapi Tanah Melayu also service a route that connects Penang all the way into Singapore and stopping by at Johor Bahru.

By Air.

Served by the Sultan Ismail International Airport located in the town of Senai, it hosts more than 5 million people in traffic and is one of the busiest airports that connect national carrier Malaysia Airport to other parts of the country and other countries as well.

Budget airline Air Asia too serve this airport flying domestically from other parts of Malaysia while connected Johor with neighbouring country cities in Indonesia.

Getting Around

In Johor, one can take the taxis that are abundant and easily obtained. However, buses are also available in the city that are operated by City Bus. Buses at the bus terminals will also ferry passengers over to Singapore and connecting towns in other parts of Johor.
